Mexican Sunflowers Gouache Painting

This painting was inspired by these beautiful Mexican Sunflowers that I spotted while visiting Mexico City at the end of the Summer in 2024. There is beautiful greenery and florals that are local to this city that you can see everywhere you go. I wanted to paint them in the vibrant yellows and oranges I saw them in with a loose floral style for this gouache painting. I painted the florals by hand and then created an alternate ground color for the florals in Photoshop.
