Maracuyá Illustration
I wanted to experiment with my linework style for this illustration as well as shading with a brush on Procreate that gave the effect of an oil pastel on the fruit. The Maracuyá is also known as passion fruit. I am always inspired by fruits from my childhood growing up in Honduras. This fruit was very popular there growing on trees in friends back yards and would be made into juices to have with dinner. I included the time lapse of the final stages of drawing this illustration below to show my drawing process in detail.

I started this illustration by doing a loose sketch of the hanging fruit to get a sense of the proportions and layout.

My second step in the process of this illustration was to create solid colored linework with the final illustrated outline.

Finished illustration with an olive color ground for contrast.
